About the Book
Every author, in his writing, tells about himself, his way of conceiving the life, his thought. For instance in Fyodor Dostoyevsky's novels, one of the characters is epileptic, a disease what Dostoyevsky himself was suffering from. Some authors transfer in their book, more of themselves, and some share less. Nevertheless, once it is produced by the writer's pen, the work gains an autonomous life; it belongs to the world of the readers, who are free to give it the interpretation they like.
Travels of the mind describes a way, from the deepest dark twists and turns of a depressed, anxious mind, to the light flowing from the balance, the joy, the capacity to give and receive love and to live the life.
In such itinerary, Travels of the mind reproposes many religious themes, first of all the issue concerning the free will. Is the human being able to take decisions depending on his own willpower? Or do the events push the man towards this or that direction? Moreover the individual is able to get the liberation from the suffering, by himself, using his own strengths? Or he needs the help and the grace of God, Who directs his steps.
Religion, spiritual quest, endeavor to find an answer to the fundamental question if there is a life after the death, is the air throughout the book. The reader is captivated from mistery, miracula, traditions, and a host of contents.
Travels of the mind pointed out to the author himself, the path to follow. My wish is that it can bring to the reader a contribution of thought towards a spiritual path leading to his or her authentic being, to the true core of the person, that essence free from the conditioning that the society, in the good and in the evil, has given us. |
